Corporate Social Responsibility
Wilk Group is a socially and environmentally responsible enterprise. With respect to packaging, Wilk Group designs its packaging solutions to minimize environmental impact. This includes compliance with the European Union’s Directive on Packaging and Packaging Waste (94/62/EC of 20 December 1994, as amended by 2004/12/EC) and the CEN packaging standards (2005/C 44/13).
Through policies, and in close relationship with partners and suppliers, we use a system of specifications, testing, and verification to comply with applicable laws and regulations, including requirements restricting the use of certain hazardous substances, specifying recyclable material content. We respect the compliance with all applicable local, state, federal, and international environmental regulations. To the best of our knowledge, applicable hazardous substances are not present, in excess of specified threshold limits, in the parts manufactured by Wilk Group. This is supported by being entitled to several world renown certifications including:
- ISO 9001
- ISO 22000
- PAS 223
- FSSC 22000
In our daily operations, we think about the economic, social and environmental impacts of our actions. We try to design our products in such a way that is safe to use via tamper-evidence stripping and choke prevention shapes. We also seek to minimise the use of polyethylene, hence we make our products as light as possible without compromising its functionality.
We practice efficient energy management by means of heat recovery from our machinery and our production line consists of modern and eco-friendly machines to minimise our CO2 emissions and our impact on the environment.
Our factories located in Chełm, Poland, work in conjunction with the city council to provide training and employment for the local youth labour force, allowing them to gain experience and a starting ground for their careers.
